DJB,

I'm sorry I didn't report on Frank Diggy's murder. I give my condolences to his friends, fans and family, and I hope that tragedies like this don't happen again.

I do my best to follow up with everything that happens in East County, but I'm also a full-time student who happens to live in another state, which obviously limits the amount of effort I can put towards this. If there's something you want people to know about, feel free to e-mail me or message me on Facebook or Twitter and I'll post it here. Otherwise, there's a chance I won't know about it.

Everyone needs to qualify their statement as "non-Hispanic whites". There are plenty of Hispanic people out there who have European heritage, and I think that just because they came here via Cuba, Colombia, Argentina, or Brazil, they should not be sidelined. Montgomery County's diversity is something to be proud of, but racial diversity is sometimes (and should be) separate from ethnic diversity. Otherwise, we're kidding ourselves if we think we can really make a solid exclamation about the state of diversity in the county.
