daily snapshot: winsor the cat (1992-2010)

Pla-Za Art Store Cat

Sad news from the art world today: Winsor, the cat who lounged in the display windows of Pla-Za Art on Georgia Avenue since 1992, passed away last week. He's survived by his sister Newton (if you, like me, ever buy paints you know what the joke is.) I'm not sure which cat is in this photo I took last fall, but our thoughts are with Newton and her sentient caretakers.

(Thanks to Jerry McCoy for the heads-up.)

Rest in Peace, Winsor!

I'm sorry to hear about winsor. He always brightened my day and encouraged me to linger at Pla-Za Art whenever I went in. May he find as many friends in kitty heaven as he did in his window.

Sad news. More stores should have resident kitties!

Not to nit-pick but I hope you weren't implying that cats aren't sentient! Sentient just means that they are aware of their surroundings and capable of feeling.

Poor Windsor. I looked for him every time I was in the store or walked by.

I THINK you have Newton in this pic - I believe Winsor was the skinny one - I'll miss that kitty.
