selling out . . .

While the idea of a blog making money - particularly a blog run out of someone's bedroom or apartment - gives me The Oogies, I realize that bloggers actually have to eat, or more importantly buy domain names that don't end in "blogspot.com."

So, in the name of giving You, The Reader, a simpler web address to punch in, I'm starting the Just Up The Pike store. The same way I started this blog to encourage "east side pride," I want to give East County residents more ways to say "Hey! Just because I don't live in Rockville doesn't mean I'm not a part of Montgomery County!"

Check it out. There isn't much (would anyone really want a JUTP tote bag?), but hopefully what the store offers can keep the blog going in a way that personal conviction and caffeine cannot.

Kind of ironic in light of all your recent posts about Rockville.

Check out gardenrant.com. One of the authors is in Takoma Park and they have gotten advertisers for their site. They were noted in Garden Design mag and NYT.

How can you have a CafePress store and not offer the thong?

As a matter of fact, if you believe in capitalim,-- send ten dollars to me--and I will spread the word on the great benefits of capitalim.
