new york and architecture porn

New Frank Gehry Building (Left) And Others
I don't want to seem lazy, but I've been under the weather over the past couple days and spending long periods of time in front of the computer hurts my head. So let's have another photoset, this one of my trip to New York last month seeing what my studio friends call "architecture porn." In the first slideshow, pictures from Columbus Circle, Hell's Kitchen, the newly pedestrianized Times Square (the grand experiment of new transportation commissioner Janette Sadik-Khan), Rockefeller Center, and Park Avenue (with my two favorite skyscrapers, Lever House and the Seagram Building).

In the second slideshow, there are pictures from the trendy Chelsea neighborhood, including Gansevoort Plaza (one of Sadik-Khan's first projects) and the High Line (above), a park built atop a former elevated railway.

(For more "architecture porn," please see "what I learned in Philly," parts one and two.)

Chicago is by far the best city for architecture tourism. They even have an office where they offer dozens of different architecture tours.
