So, Columbia, if you see the bridge on Route 29 between Howard and Montgomery counties mysteriously disappear over the next couple of days, maybe you'll know why.
"I disagree with 21-story buildings, with making new streets across the General Growth parking lot, with turning this lovely beautiful suburban city into Silver Spring."You know, it's a little flattering. Who would have thought that of all places in the area, Silver Spring would be held up as the bad example?

There's absolutely nothing lovely, beautiful, or city about Columbia. It is a maze of ridiculous street names with very little sense of place, heavy traffic problems, and little culture. A "lovely beautiful suburban city" sounds a lot more like... down town Silver Spring.
That's fine if they want to keep it the way it is, but Columbia is no city. in cities, people generally don't speak up in defense of surface parking lots.
Dave, I couldn't have said it better myself. Being from Silver Spring and working in Columbia, I agree that it's as as sterile as a doctors office up here. I can't wait get out of here every day...but that might be because my job is so boring.
Wow! I can't believe gas-stations-hidden-behind-carefully-landscaped-bushes is actually putting Silver Spring down. I thought the only reason people lived in fakeville, I mean, Columbia, was because they couldn't rent or own a place in Silver Spring.
